Coach Hardman says, "Miguel arrived at NMMI unexpectedly on August 4th, 2002.  Little did I realize that this young man for Tabasco, Mexico, could turn out to be the best player in NMMI Colt tennis history.  For a cadet to be considered the best, one has to remember Cyril Jacobe, who graduated in 2002 as a two time state singles champion with a record of 42-0 during his two years at NMMI.  Jacobe also let the Colts to two consecutive state team titles.  Miguel could be better than Cyril!  Miguel is a great student and athlete.  As a cadet leader, he shows great promise.  As the cadets pursue their 3rd straight team title, Miguel will lead the way."

Miguel was the Mexico Junior Davis Cup winner, MVP NMMI Colt Fall Season, and the #1 High School Player Award recipient at NMMI in 2002.  He will attend either UCLA, Baylor, or Illinois.
